It’s a big day for Qatar tomorrow, as one of the country’s first stadiums built entirely from scratch will welcome its first spectators at the 47th Amir Cup final.

The inauguration of Al Wakrah Stadium will take place ahead of the title clash between local teams Al Sadd and Al Duhail.

According to the Ministry of Interior (MOI), gates of the stadium will open at 7.30 pm for the public. People can reach the stadium using different modes of transportation such as Doha Metro, public buses, taxis and private cars.

The Ministry advises individuals to arrive at the stadium well in advance to help avoid rush and traffic holdup.

The Ministry has ensured arrangements for Isha and Taraweeh prayers. Additionally, different programs will be held at the fan zones before the match commences.

Individuals are also reminded by the Ministry to follow traffic signs and adhere to the instructions of the security personnel to help in finding designated parking areas.

Moreover, the Ministry has also issued a number of instructions for those heading to the final.  The below image contains all the items that are strictly prohibited at the venue:

Additionally, for the safety of all spectators inside the stadium, the Organizing Committee has stressed individuals to abstain from activities such as gambling, smoking, political and religious rallies, unauthorized marketing, trading, collection of money for charities.

Moreover, entering restricted areas, including the field, obstructing gateways, access ways, entrances, exits and stairways, climbing on any structure are also strictly not allowed.

The Amir Cup is the biggest football tournament in the country, which features all first and second division clubs in Qatar.

It was first played in 1972-73 and was won by Al Ahli. However, Al Sadd is hailed as the most successful team having won the tournament 16 times. Last year’s historic final saw Al Duhail beat Al Rayyan 2-1 at Khalifa Stadium.
