Qatar has been working tirelessly to ensure the health and safety of its citizens and residents as it fights the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) with all its might.
However, to meet the new developments and urgent public needs in a manner that does not conflict with medical and preventive data, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) decided to reopen money exchange service offices from Tuesday, May 12, 2020, with the mandatory application of precautionary measures.

Precautionary measures:
- The visitor should wear a mask while entering the shop
- Social distancing should be maintained
- Temperature measurement should be done
- The shop should allow only a certain number of people at a time
The preventive measures determined by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) should be followed by the money exchange service offices including working six hours a day for employees, allowing overtime work for two paid hours, bringing the total hours to eight hours maximum.
Moreover, money exchange service offices are also required to take the necessary measures to prevent crowding, including providing instructions, guidelines, and security personnel to assist customers and make sure social distancing guidelines are followed.
The MOCI urges money exchange service offices and the public to adhere to the instructions and preventive measures for their safety and those around them. The MOCI will take legal action against the violators.
