The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) will launch a national campaign for oral and dental health tomorrow, December 26.

The Ministry will carry out the campaign with the cooperation of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC).

Set to run under the slogan ‘My Smile is My Health,’ the campaign will be launched through the official communication platforms of the Ministry.

The main goal of the campaign is to raise public awareness of the importance of oral care and hygiene.

This is in addition to highlighting positive behaviors towards the current oral and dental services in the community.

The campaign also seeks to enhance communication between dental services and prevention departments in various medical institutions as well as encourage the public to keep a healthy diet and reduce sugar in food and drinks.

On its Twitter page, the Ministry has asked the public to engage with the hashtag: #askandthe_dentist_answers. People are invited to ask questions related to oral and dental health from December 26 until December 31, 2020.

“They will be answered by a selection of our best dentists in Qatar,” the Ministry said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry has begun conducting the largest vaccination campaign in Qatar against COVID-19. Several officials from the health sector, community dignitaries, and the elderly amongst the priority groups have already received the first shot of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine.
