The Ministry of Transport and Communications' (MoTC) Qatar Digital Government Training Program (QDGTP) has commenced its training program for the second half of 2021.

The Q3 and Q4 training plan, which began earlier this month, includes 96 training courses covering 55 technical subjects, 30 percent of which are new to the plan.

Moreover, topics such as information security and databases will be conducted in collaboration with major technology companies such as Microsoft and Oracle.

QDGTP places high value on the customization of its training plans because they serve as a road map for IT employees and professionals working for government agencies to improve their skills and knowledge on both a personal and professional level, as well as obtain additional professional certifications.

According to QDGTP data, 1835 applications for Q3 and Q4 courses have been received from 52 businesses, with total training seats likely to exceed 1,450.

During these new trainings, QDGTP claimed it will distribute 870 Microsoft course testing vouchers to attendees.

QDGTP provided 121 training courses and 195 certifications to trainees for the Q1 and Q2 courses, which were launched on November 28, 2020.

The total number of training seats offered was 1,715, with 1,056 trainees coming from 68 different government agencies, while the total number of application requests was 3,020.

Individual Training Plan (ITP) tool was established for the first time using QDGTP LMS in the first half of 2021, with 1,760 ITPs registered in the LMS.

ITP is one of the most essential instruments in the training and development sector, and its effective application aids in the achievement of training objectives.

To make the certification process easier, QDGTP provided exam vouchers and reimbursements. Due to COVID-19, QDGTP was able to increase the number of planned training courses by adding more of them by performing virtual trainings.

The number of training courses increased from 59 in the first and second quarters of 2020 to 121 in the first and second quarters of 2021.

In QDGTP's Q1 and Q2 training plans, nine famous IT solutions and training providers collaborated closely. 58 percent of the scheduled courses were presented to the target audience for the first time.

Providing specialized training courses in response to some specific demands and requirements from seven businesses at a rate of ten trainings and roughly 115 training seats was one of the significant achievements during the first half of 2021. During the first half of 2021, QDGTP and Huawei collaborated on a special course titled "Evolving from Smart Cities to Cognitive Cities."

QDGTP supports Qatar's digital transformation of government sectors by delivering training solutions aimed at improving the skillsets and capacities of government ICT workers.

Its goal is to develop new abilities that ICT professionals would need to achieve the performance expectations of their jobs.
