With major road projects getting completed across the country, traffic woes are expected to be alleviated soon.
The latest development is the completion of a new bridge, between Al Furousiya Street and Al Huwar Street in Al Rayyan area, which is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion, reported Gulf Times.
The new bridge will partially be opened to the public on Friday, it was announced.

The developments are being done as part of the phase two of the Al Rayyan Road Development Project.

The 370M-long bridge, which will have four lanes for traffic, and the 925M-long tunnel, with five lanes in each direction, are expected to save time for commuters crossing from the Al Furousiya Street to Howard Street and vice-versa.
The removal of several detours in Al Gharafa and Madinat Khalifa will mean people will be able to reach their destinations at least 50% faster, reported Qatar Tribune.

The opening of the bridge will assist several areas including Al Rayyan, Al Luqta, Al Gharafa, Mreikh, Fareej Al Amir, Education City and Aspire Zone.
Road users travelling from Al Gharafa via Al Huwar Street can use the new underpass and interchange to travel south towards Aspire Zone.

Road users travelling from Aspire Zone via Al Furousiya Street can use the new bridge at Khalid Bin Abdullah Al Attiyah Interchange and new underpass at Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Thani Interchange to travel north towards Al Gharafa.
The project includes the development of the road from the west of the Olympic Roundabout to the west of Khalid Bin Abdullah Al Attiya Roundabout (New Rayyan Roundabout).
The project will develop a new four-lane dual carriageway of 5.5km in each direction, in addition to developing five main intersections, a bridge and a tunnel.
