A new design has been finalized as the new national emblem of Qatar. The new emblem reflects the embracing of Qatar's rich past and heritage, while also looking into the future.
The new emblem of the state depicts two crossed swords, with the sea, a boat, and two palm trees in the space above and between the two bodies. The palm trees in the logo are the very same trees located in HH Father Emir Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al Thani's farm, indicating the leadership and a tribute paid to him, ultimately symbolizing generosity and his giving nature.

The boat shown in the logo signifies the first motor-powered boat in the history of the State of Qatar, the 'Fatah Al-Khair', that was known to bring goodness. Built in 1900 and owned by Sheikh Hamad bin Abdullah Al Thani, this is yet another remembrance of Qatar's rich history.
The founder's swords signify the courage and strength associated with the owner of the swords. As swords have become symbolic for the people of Qatar, it is one of the most prominent pillars of the emblem, indicating protecting the homeland, showcasing pride, and being home to those who seek refuge.
And lastly, the sea is one of the most significant symbols reflecting Qatar's heritage as history remembers fishing, sailing, and pearling as the pillars of the Qatari economy. The waves are drawn using the nine jagged ends of the flag of the State, which represent the power of the sea, and the three waves shown reflect Qatar as a peninsula, with 3 sides surrounded by water.
The new logo will be used regularly by all government agencies and will enhance the image of the State of Qatar with the public locally and internationally
