Motorists are warned to abide by the imperative speed limits set in place by the Ministry of Interior as they took initiative to ensure road safety by planting new high-tech radars.

In addition to catching drivers who override speed limits, the radars are also capable of catching seat belt violations, wrongful lane overtakings as well as any usage of personal electronic devices whilst operating a moving vehicle.

The Traffic Department in conjunction with the Ministry of Interior have also put in motion a new high-tech radar which is installed and disguised in civil vehicles; which are also designed to be proficient in gathering information on violators. These legal guidelines are set to ensure that the utmost safety is achieved in Qatar, in order to minimize potential complications.

 

Current locations of radars and their corresponding speed limits:

    Air Force Street – 100 km/h

    Dukhan/Shahaniya – 120 km/h

    Shamal Highway – 120 km/h

    Salwa road – 120 km/h

    F Ring Road – 100 km/h

    Al Dafna – 80 km/h

    Al Waab – 80 km/h

    Al Wakrah - 80km/h

    Al Refaa - 100km/h
