Oil prices rose today amid concerns over persistent disruptions of energy supplies from the Middle East, with Brent crude on track to record its third consecutive weekly gain.
Brent crude futures climbed 58 cents, an increase of 0.5 percent, to reach USD 113.75 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose 66 cents, or 0.7 percent, to USD 100.13 per barrel.
Brent crude, which reached its highest level since May 4 at the close of trading yesterday, is set to end the week higher for the third time in a row. Meanwhile, US WTI crude is heading toward a weekly loss, bringing an end to a two-week streak of gains. (QNA)
