In collaboration with Quest, Ooredoo has launched its own e-sports brand Ooredoo Nation – Gamers’ Land yesterday to target the gaming audience in Qatar.
Quest, the first and largest Qatari-registered firm specializing in the business of e-sports, has been operating in the region for the past six years, and Ooredoo has struck an agreement with them.
Management of online and on-ground competitions, professional team ownership and management, and production and content creation are among the company's key business lines.

Ooredoo Nation - Gamers’ Land aims to transcend geographical boundaries through a gaming community that is inventing, innovating, creating, evolving, and raising the game by the minute.
Ooredoo Nation challenges gamers to name one sport in which it does not participate.
Ooredoo will introduce a number of goods, services, and activities aimed exclusively towards the gaming community.

A series of e-sports tournaments will be held, through which Ooredoo will discover the finest talent in the country and the Mena regions to bring together an Ooredoo e-sports team that will compete in regional and worldwide events.
Following that, Ooredoo will host multiple worldwide competitions in which various international teams, as well as the Ooredoo e-sports squad, will compete.
According to Ooredoo, e-sports now constitutes a multi-billion-dollar industry of global significance. Its emergence has led industry analysts to identify e-sports as both a key economic trend in markets for data and as a future driver of strategy in the telecommunications business.

By positioning itself as the go-to brand for this youthful, data-intensive, and high-revenue activity, Ooredoo aims to establish leadership in the e-sports domain and build the activity into an important revenue stream.
“I was thrilled to see our plans to establish and nurture the most exciting e-sports teams in the world, backed by best-of-breed partners and tapping into the active participation of local youth,” said Ooredoo CEO Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulla al-Thani.
To take the first step toward our objective of becoming a market pioneer, he explained that they will pursue more and more strategic initiatives such as these, seeking to set the tone for and pace of this fascinating new arena.
