PayLater, a leading buy-now-pay-later fintech platform, announced the signing of an agreement with Qatar Rail at Web Summit Qatar 2026.

Under this strategic partnership, PayLater will become an integrated payment option for Qatar Rail’s annual metro subscriptions. Commuters will be able to spread the cost of their 365-day MetroPass into manageable instalments using PayLater’s 100% Sharia-compliant platform, which charges zero fees and zero interest.

This initiative supports Qatar’s vision for sustainable urban mobility by making metro travel more financially accessible to residents across the country, while ensuring ethical, transparent financing that aligns with Islamic finance principles.

Dr. Devid Jegerson, CEO, PayLater, stated: “We are thrilled to partner with Qatar Rail to make public transportation more accessible for everyone. Our 100% Sharia-compliant platform with zero fees and zero interest aligns perfectly with the values of the community we serve, removing financial barriers while ensuring ethical, transparent payment solutions.”

Mr. Abdulla Saif Alsulaiti, Chief of Service Delivery at Qatar Rail, stated: “We are pleased to sign this agreement with PayLater, which strengthens the payment ecosystem for public transportation services in the State of Qatar. This partnership enables our customers to pay for the annual 365‑Day MetroPass in installments, reflecting our commitment to offering flexible solutions that facilitate access to the public transport services provided by the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram networks.

“It also contributes to expanding the metro’s user base. We believe that advancing our digital services supports the Qatar National Vision 2030 by delivering a modern, safe, and sustainable transportation system powered by advanced digital solutions.”
