To enhance ease of access to healthcare services for citizens and residents in different areas across Qatar, the Primary Health Care Corporation announced its plans to open more health centers that will add to its existing facilities.
In its annual report issued yesterday, PHCC explained that the new healthcare centers are expected to include Al Mashaf, Umm Al Seneem and Al Sadd, in addition to the current Al Khor Health Center, which will be replaced with a new one.
The additions will occur after the formal opening of Al Ruwais Health Center, followed by South Wakra Health Center, according to the report.
PHCC will celebrate its 10-year-anniversary in February of 2022, after having achieved a qualitative leap in the field of providing health services through its health centers and in conjunction with the opening of new health facilities for primary health care.
PHCC stressed that the best way to improve the health of the population is to have comprehensive and high-quality primary health care services that focus on wellness, prevention and early detection.
In April of 2019, the corporation launched its strategic plan 2019-2023, which included six strategic priorities, 20 goals and 80 strategic activities to be achieved over the five years.
The plan aims to reach leadership in services that achieve the health and well-being of the community, as it focuses on providing more comprehensive and integrated services, and transforming the balance of health care into a model of proactive and enhanced preventive health services in the community.
