As Qatar gears up to mark the blessed occasion of Eid Al Adha, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has reminded citizens and residents to exercise caution and adhere to preventive measures against COVID-19.

In a social media campaign, PHCC has shared different tips for the public to follow to enjoy a safe and healthy Eid holiday.

"Let’s adhere to precautionary measures, including social distancing for the safety of all," PHCC said in a tweet.

As Qatar entered Phase 3 of the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions recently and limitations on social gatherings have been eased, PHCC has stressed the importance of protecting the elderly.

"The elderly and those with chronic diseases are advised to avoid gatherings as they are most vulnerable to COVID-19 infection," PHCC said.

In the current phase, indoor social gatherings are limited to 15 vaccinated people or 5 unvaccinated people or mixed groups while outdoor social gatherings are limited to 30 vaccinated people or 10 unvaccinated people or mixed groups.

PHCC also emphasized staying home "when feeling sick or experiencing COVID-19 symptoms" and avoid gatherings.

For those getting together with friends and family, the PHCC advised to "use a non-physical form of contact to greet others by waving hands, nodding head, or placing your hand on your heart."

In terms of maintaining good health over the Eid holiday, the PHCC recommended, replacing Eid sweets with fruits and dates and grilling or boiling meat to enjoy healthy and delicious meals.

"Eid holiday is a good opportunity to engage in sports activities," the PHCC pointed out.
