His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior for the State of Qatar has asked the country’s ministers to present the strategic plans and programs of their respective ministry to the Council of Ministers within three months.
According to Qatar News Agency (QNA), this was announced during the Cabinet’s regular meeting at the Amiri Diwan, yesterday.
The strategic plans will comprise a timetable coupled with the criteria and indicators to assess the progress of performance, along the lines of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
After the Cabinet meeting, chaired by HE the PM, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad Al-Jafali Al Nuaimi announced the details of the meeting.
Following are the highlights from the meeting:
- The Cabinet gave its nod of approval to set up a permanent committee for punitive and correctional institutions and to define its terms of reference. This committee will be a part of the Ministry of Interior.
- The Cabinet also approved its draft decision on the executive regulations of Law No. 1 for 2020 about a unified economic registry.
- The Cabinet ratified HE the PM’s draft decision to amend some provisions of Decision No. 30 of 2019 to nominate a president, vice-president and members of the National Committee for Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorist Financing.
- The Cabinet also took the steps to ratify an agreement for cooperation between the governments of Qatar and Mali in the fields of physical and sports activities.
The Cabinet also permitted:
- a draft air services agreement between the governments of Qatar and Saint Lucia.
- a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in arts, culture, and heritage between the governments of Qatar and Malaysia.
- a draft MoU for cooperation between the governments of Qatar and Belize in the area of culture.
Last week, at a previous Cabinet meeting, a draft decision to establish a permanent committee for human food safety in the country was given the go-ahead.
