Qatar's leadership continues to play a phenomenal role in laying out procedures and introducing measures to ensure the public's safety and wellbeing amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In addition to spearheading initiatives to curb the spread of the virus, the leadership also focuses on ensuring the country has enough, high-quality facilities for testing, management, and treatment of COVID-19 patients.
Earlier today, His Excellency the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani visited the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) Communicable Disease Center, which is dedicated to the treatment of patients who have contracted the disease.
HE the Prime Minister was briefed on the services provided to the patients.

He was told about some cases who had recovered from the infection as well as those who are on the path to recovery and praised the health services extended to them.
He also listened to a brief explanation of the regulations and mechanisms on procedures, personal medical protection equipment and medical devices available at the center, which are in line with the highest safety and prevention standards.
HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari accompanied HE the PM. A number of senior HMC officials and medical staff were also present.
Yesterday, HMC also announced that the Hazm Mebaireek General Hospital (HMGH) will be used as a treatment facility for COVID-19 patients. The aim is to ensure that the patients receive high-quality care in an integrated facility.
Qatar's efforts to contain COVID-19 have been remarkable, and have been acknowledged by WHO Director-General recently.
The country set up quarantine facilities within a highly impressive, short period of time.
In addition to several of its measures, the country's rate of testing for COVID-19 has also been one of the highest in the world.
