In light of the decline in COVID-19 cases, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) has introduced changes in waiting time for azan and Friday prayers.
According to Awqaf, prayers will begin after ten minutes of azan (call to prayer), increasing the waiting time from five minutes.
The department also communicated that the mosques will be opened 20 minutes prior to the second azan for Friday prayers.
A circular was issued by the Mosques Management Department to Imams and Muezzins today regarding the following changes.
Moreover, individuals who arrive at the mosques are requested to continue to adhere to the precautionary measures in place to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
They include carrying a personal prayer mat, wearing a face mask, having the green status on the Ehteraz app, and maintaining social distancing.
