If you thought the intensity of the cold wave in Qatar was slowly decreasing, then you are wrong.
The country’s Met Department has asked people to brace for this weekend, which could turn out to be the coldest days of the entire winter season, according to Gulf Times.
In a report, the weathermen said that the expected cold spell would see temperatures drop below 8°C in some places. The northwesterly winds are expected to add to the chill factor and make it feel even colder.

The cold winds are likely to lash most areas in the country beginning from Thursday until Saturday (January 17 to 19).
The average temperature during this period is likely to range between a maximum of 16 to 20°C and minimum of 10 to 14°C. The southern areas of the country could go up to 8°C or lower, reported The Peninsula.
Qatar had experienced a sharp drop in temperature last weekend, but the mercury levels had gradually gone up to reach 29°C yesterday.

This weekend, the wind speed will range from 18 to 28 knots, going up to 38 knots in some places, especially on Thursday and Friday.
This will result in dusty conditions at times, bringing down visibility to below 2km in some areas. At the same time, the wave height is expected to range between 7ft and 10ft, reaching a high of 15ft.
The Met department has advised people to be cautious, avoid going to sea and stay tuned for the latest updates.
