Qatar Airways continues to soar to greater heights with top global accolades. 

Just last week, the national flag carrier was recognized as the World's Best Airlines by Skytrax, and now four more prestigious awards fall in its bag of achievements. 

Making an all-time new record Qatar Airways won four out of six awards in the Middle East category at the 2019 Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) Passenger Choice Awards, the airline announced this afternoon. 

Qatar Airways earned the titles of Best Overall Carrier in the Middle East, Best Cabin Service in the Middle East, Best Food & Beverage in the Middle East, and Best Seat Comfort in the Middle East, at the awards ceremony held in Istanbul, Turkey.

Expressing his gratitude to the airline passengers who voted for the airline, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Akbar Al Baker said, "This accomplishment sets a new benchmark for the airline going forward, and we renew our commitment to continuing to innovate to offer our passengers the very finest experience when they fly.”

APEX is the only non-profit membership trade organization comprised of the world's leading airlines, industry suppliers, major media groups and related aviation industry leaders focused on elevating the passenger airline experience through industry initiatives and regulations. 

The APEX Passenger Choice Awards are one of the industry's most anticipated awards that are determined through customer feedback. 

Using a five-star scale, passengers rate more than one million flights of nearly 500 international airlines.

Passengers rate their overall flight experience from one to five stars.

On the same screen, passengers are also allowed to provide anonymous ratings in five subcategories: seat comfort, cabin service, food and beverage, entertainment, and Wi-Fi.

The single screen rating allows airline passengers to easily rate their flight in less than 15 seconds.

The Passenger Choice Awards are independently certified by a professional external auditing company hired by APEX.
