In collaboration with the Qatar General Organization for Standards and Metrology (QS), the General Directorate of Traffic, Qatar Energy, and several other relevant entities, the Ministry of Transport and Communications announced that it is working to complete the requirements for switching buses and trucks to environmentally friendly, ultralow sulfur diesel.
This is in line with the Ministry's policy of using clean diesel fuel, comparable to EURO 5 diesel, on all buses and trucks imported into Qatar, beginning with models to be built for 2023.
Qatar Energy will supply all transportation sectors with EURO5-equivalent diesel fuel, which will be used on many buses and trucks around the country, decreasing carbon emissions and pollutants dramatically.

In addition to promoting Qatar’s ‘Transformation to Eco-friendly Vehicles Strategy’, it will contribute to upgrading the specifications of buses and trucks, enabling them to use clean diesel fuel which is comparable to the EURO5 diesel.
The initiative will help Qatar achieve environmental sustainability goals through the rolling out of clean technologies, fuels, and electrical energy, thereby reducing vehicle exhaust and harmful carbon emissions.
This not only paves the way for a cleaner, healthier, and safer environment for current and future generations, but it also aids in the reduction of greenhouse gases, the combat of climate change, and the maintenance of an economic-environmental balance.
