The decision was made at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani to ban the use of facemasks in closed public areas, save when citizens and residents are inside health facilities or using public transit.
It went on to say that all employees and workers whose jobs need them to be in confined spaces and communicate with clients must wear masks during their shifts.
This will go into effect tomorrow, September 1, 2022.
According to a Cabinet decision, kids, teachers, and administrators in all kindergartens, as well as public and private schools, are no longer needed to wear masks inside the campus/classrooms.
Earlier today, the Cabinet decided to ban the wearing of face masks in closed public spaces, save when citizens and residents are inside health facilities or using public transportation. This also goes into effect tomorrow.
However, all employees and workers whose jobs need them to be in confined spaces and communicate with consumers must wear masks while on the job.
