In cooperation with Qatar Charity, the municipality of Al-Sheehaniya inaugurated a waterer model for birds in the Al-Sheehaniya Park for their care and conservation in the country. Qatar’s traditional architectural identity pointed out that it was designed in the form of a pigeon house.

According to Jaber Hassan Al Jaber, director of the Al-Sheehaniya Municipality, this initiative falls within the framework of cooperation between the municipality and Qatar Charity to contribute to bird preservation, protecting the environment, and promoting the culture of sustainability in Qatar.

During the inaugural ceremony, he thanked Qatar Charity and the Ministry of Municipality and Environment for their cooperation.

Jassim Muhammad Al-Emadi, Director of the Local Development Department of Qatar Charity, stated that Qatar Charity looks forward to collaborating on future projects with government and private entities that aim to serve the local community and promote the protection of Qatar’s environment.

He expressed his thanks to Al Sheehaniya Municipality for its cooperation hopes that more people will support the bird waterer project, enabling the installation of more waterers in public parks in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment.

Qatar Charity had previously educated the public on the ‘Soqya’ project to keep up the tradition of giving water to birds, through implementing interactive workshops for children and youth.

Moreover, Qatar Charity has cooperated with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar University, and Qatar Foundation universities in holding recycling workshops for designing small models for bird waterers at many schools.

It has also collaborated with the Parks Department of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to distribute these models in the parks of Doha.
