Qatar Charity (QC) has started implementing the ‘Feed the Fasting’ project in 33 countries, including Qatar, by distributing food packages and ready-to-eat Iftar meals. The distribution has begun on the first day of Ramadan, as part of Qatar Charity’s ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive.
QC, with the support of donors in Qatar, seeks to benefit 1.6 million people from its Ramadan projects at an estimated cost of 56.7 million Qatari Riyals.

On the first day of Ramadan, QC, in cooperation with the municipalities in Turkey, has started distributing Iftar meals to Syrian refugees, Turkish low-income households, the families of the orphans sponsored by Qatar Charity, and widows in the provinces of Gaziantep, Kilis, Şanlıurfa, sküdar, and Istanbul.
Qatar Charity aims to distribute more than 90,000 Iftar meals for the benefit of 18,000 families.

Through its Turkey office, QC has started distributing nearly 3,157 food baskets to internally displaced persons living in the camps of Salqin and Harem in northern Syria. The food basket is sufficient for a beneficiary family for a whole month.
In Kyrgyzstan, QC’s field team has distributed 18,060 meals to poor families and the families of orphans and persons with special needs in Choi, Nary, Batken, Jalal-Abad.
The meals were also distributed to doctors on duty in the COVID hospitals, workers in the field hospitals, and cleaners. The distribution took place in coordination with the Ministry of Social Development, local authorities, and municipalities.

In the Gaza Strip of Palestine, QC began distributing food baskets to 5,500 poor families sponsored under the social welfare program.
Another 8,000 food parcels are expected to be distributed to orphans, persons with special needs, and poor families in 8 governorates of the Gaza Strip.
