With the support of the benevolent people in Qatar, Qatar Charity (QC) continue implementing the Ramadan projects under its ‘Ramadan of Hope’ drive by distributing ready-to-eat Iftar meals to workers and others in Qatar. 

Taking precautionary measures against the coronavirus, QC distributes 14,000 meals per day to workers in 4 places, which are the company housings, the Doha Industrial Area, Al Khor Industrial Area, and farms.

The ‘Mobile Iftar Meals for Workers’ project aims to benefit 456,000 workers during Ramadan at an estimated cost of QAR 6 million. The project includes food baskets and ready-to-eat meals.

Besides, Qatar Charity distributes 1,600 meals daily to those waiting at traffic lights and some other places and unable to reach home before the Adhaan of Magribh.

The distribution points are constantly changed to reach the largest number of beneficiaries. This ‘Mobile Iftar’ is expected to benefit 48,000 people across the country.

The ‘Ramadan Supply’ was also distributed to benefit 20,000 people, at an estimated cost of approximately QAR 2.4 million.

This project aims to meet the Ramadan needs of the families of orphans, low-income families, and widows through the distribution of coupons to them.

It is worth mentioning that the projects under the “Ramadan of Hope’ campaign are expected to benefit nearly 600,000 people in debt, low-income families, workers, and expatriates, in Qatar at an estimated cost of 111 million Qatari riyals.

In addition to the iftar meals for workers and others and Ramadan supply for low-income families, the Ramadan projects include QR 100 million assistance for those in debt and coronavirus-hit families.
