The 2018 FIFA World Cup may be happening thousands of miles away in Russia, but the excitement is felt in Qatar, the hosts of the 2022 event, thanks to a massive fan zone which beams the matches live.

Now, football lovers who are visiting the Qatar Fan Zone at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiyah Arena have more reasons to cheer as they will also get to watch six live concerts happening at the same venue, reported Gulf Times.

The series of six concerts, by stars like Cheb Khlaed and Ziad Bourji, will be held at 7:30 pm between the evening match screenings of the 2018 World Cup, reported The Peninsula.

The first in the series of concerts took place on Monday with Moroccan singer Hatim Ammor taking the stage. He performed before the kick-off between Morocco and Spain.
The music concerts, organised by local entertainment business Social Studios, will include stars like North Africa’s world-renowned Cheb Khlaed, who is due to perform for the Fan Zone’s visitors on June 28.

During the quarter-finals of the World Cup, the music concerts will feature Iraqi singer Mohammed Al Fares and Lebanese artiste Ziad Bourji on July 6 and July 7, respectively.

Kuwaiti Star Academy sensation Essa Almarzoug is set to take the stage on July 10, followed by his compatriot star Ibrahim Dashti the next day (on July 11), according to Qatar Tribune.

Qatar Fan Zone is organised by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), the Ministry of Culture and Sports (MCS) and Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA).

Qatar Fan Zone is a highlight of this year’s Qatar Summer Festival (QSF), which kicked off on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr.
