With the start of December, colder and wetter weather is upon us.
Qatar’s Met department has announced that wintry conditions will start to prevail in the country after northwesterly wind activity gradually increases, thus coinciding with the beginning of the Al Merbania season, according to Gulf Times.
As a result of this, one should expect a significant dip in temperature starting Friday (December 8) evening. It said that the expected drop will be by about 3 to 4C from average levels.
The country is also expected to get thundery rains across the country today, reported Qatar Tribune. The sea is expected to be very choppy and the Met Department has advised people to refrain from sea activities.
The wind speeds will likely be 7 to 15 knots, reaching a high of 21 knots in some offshore areas during thundershowers. The sea level is also expected to rise up to 6ft.
The minimum temperature today is expected to be 15C in Abu Samra, 16C in Al Khor and 19C in Doha.
