Qatar and Turkey have shared friendly relations for several years.

With Turkey standing by Qatar ever since the Gulf crisis erupted more than two years ago, the bond between the two nations is stronger than ever.

In a recent interview with Qatari newspaper Arrayah, Dr Yasin Aktay, Adviser to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed that the Qatari-Turkish relations are an exemplary Islamic example.

Calling Qatar as Turkey’s strongest ally, Aktay said that Qatar stood with Turkey during the failed coup years ago and that Ankara now stands with Doha in response to its supportive stance, which it had shown previously.

Aktay highlighted that there are a plethora of Turkish investment opportunities await Qatari investors to further strengthen economic and trade cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

At the end of 2018 trade between Qatar and Turkey was estimated to have topped the $2bn mark, reflecting a 54 percent jump in contrast to the previous year.

Turkish authorities will support Qatari investors to invest in Turkey, and will give them preference in many things in recognition of their bilateral relations with Qatar, Aktay said.

Regarding the illegal blockade on Qatar, Aktay said Qatar had proved that it is capable of rapid transformation with minimal losses and managed to turn the siege from potential disaster to momentum reflecting in its progress and prosperity.

"Another phenomenon is that the Qatari people have supported their leadership, and this leadership has not failed their people by not placing them in the circle of suffering, not like leaderships of the four blockading countries whose people are suffering from their clumsy policies,” he added.

The Turkish president's adviser acknowledged the remarkable development in economic ties between Qatar and Turkey as a result of strengthened political relations. This indicates a future expansion of Qatari investment in Turkey, he said.
