Qatar Post, the national provider of postal services, celebrated World Post Day on October 9th in a grand ceremony that gathered high-level officials from the Bureau Veritas Group and the Museum of Illusions Doha alongside leadership and staff from Qatar Post, and members of the local media.

The celebration agenda featured distinguished guests, starting with a welcome speech by Mr. Faleh Al-Naemi, Chairman and Managing Director of Qatar Post, highlighting the importance of the postal sector in the lives of individuals and the business community as well as its role in the economic development of the country. He praised the performance of Qatar Post’s staff that exerted great effort in navigating the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, committed to working in with the highest level of safety standards for the benefit of the company and society.

Qatar Post was awarded with the global label “SAFEGUARD” by Bureau Veritas Group, a world-leading provider in testing, inspection and certification services for various sectors around the world. The certificate gives recognition to the successful completion of Bureau Veritas audits, showcasing that all Qatar Post departments, facilities and operations are in conformity with health, safety and hygiene requirements of the protection guarantee program.

This event marks a new milestone for Qatar Post as they are the first company in the State of Qatar to obtain the Safe Guard Prevent Excellence Label from Bureau Veritas. The certificate was received from Mr. Hossam Refaey, Bureau Veritas Country Chief executive.

Mr. Hossam Refaey congratulated Qatar Post team for their collective efforts in attaining these global achievements. Moreover, he praised the work with Bureau Veritas which promotes the culture of excellence in the State of Qatar.

Moreover, Qatar Post announced that it has obtained ISO 45001: 2018 certificate, the first global standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S), in cooperation with Bureau Veritas, as well. This comes on the heels of obtaining the ISO 9001: 2015, ISO 14001: 2015, OSHAS 18001: 2007 and ISO 27001: 2013 certificates on the Quality Management System, Environmental Management, Occupational Health and Safety and Information Security Management System. 

During this gathering, Museum of Illusions Doha announced launching the "Draw What You Saw" contest in cooperation with Qatar Post.

The contest, launched on October 9, has been launched in continuation of the museum's social and educational responsibility to develop various fields of expertise inside and outside the museum for all segments of society, especially children. The contest is considered an additional step towards achieving the museum’s goal of developing the skills, talents and artistic and creative sense in children.

Children will receive special postcards before starting their tour at the museum, after which they must draw their favorite visual illusion and post it back to the museum by visiting Qatar Post’s main branch (Corniche) using special stamps, priced at QR 1, and slip it in a dedicated mail box with a chance to win entertaining and educational prizes.

Faleh Al-Naemi, Chairman and Managing director of Qatar Post, stated “World Post Day represents a special occasion to celebrate Qatar Posts achievements through the year, highlights the development of the postal sector and its role in supporting global efforts of achieving sustainable development goals.”

He further expressed his opinion on how the postal sector continued to serve all sectors, remaining active despite the COVID-19 pandemic and playing a leading role in serving the community members.

Qatar Post's efforts in this regard were crowned by obtaining the international recognition certificate, which confirms the commitment of all departments and facilities of the company to apply the global safety and hygiene standards during the pandemic.

Qatar Post is currently cooperating with many entities to deliver their services to the public, most notably delivering medicines, health cards, medical reports, and some consumer medical supplies in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Health. It also works with "Metrash" and the Ministry of Interior to deliver driving licenses, residence permits, passports, and other essential documents. Additionally, Qatar Post works with a number of supermarket chains such as Carrefour to deliver grocery orders to customers' homes. 

Qatar Post also provides e-commerce services through its web platforms, the Turkish Souq and CONNECTED, which allow customers to shop and ship from selected countries abroad.
