The Qatar tent pegging team qualified for the Tent Pegging World Cup Finals, scheduled to take place in Jordan from November 11 to 14, after finishing first in the qualifying playoff tournament hosted by the Sultanate of Oman over three days.
The Qatar tent pegging team delivered high technical standards throughout the three-day tournament to achieve the feat, finishing first with 414.50 points. Qatar ended 1.50 points ahead of their nearest rivals, Iraq, after strong competition that reflected the determination and excellence of the Qatari riders, while Kuwait placed third.
Qatar’s riders excelled on the third and final day of the qualifying playoff to secure the qualification berth. Nasser Hamad Mubarak Al Hajri won first place and the gold medal in the individual competition, while compatriot Ibrahim Jassim Al Hammadi finished second and received the silver medal.
Qatar had qualified for the playoff after finishing third in the Group Three qualifiers held in the Sultanate of Oman last September. Pakistan, who finished first, and Oman, who placed second, qualified for the finals.
Qatar, Oman, Pakistan, the United States, Iran and Uzbekistan competed in the Group Three qualifiers, with the six teams contesting two places at the World Cup Finals.
