This year’s Qatar National Day celebrations will be held on December 18, under the theme ‘Promise of Prosperity and Glory,’ in different venues across the nation.
Events of the 2017 national day will begin 10 days earlier, on December 9, in Darb Al Saai and other venues around the country, Gulf Times.
HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali unveiled the motto of the event, which is a quote from HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the Qatar National Theatre yesterday.
The celebrations will highlight the patriotism and solidarity of Qatar’s people for its leadership, despite the unjust blockade imposed on the country, said Al Ali, who heads the National Day Organising Committee, reported The Peninsula.
“This year celebrations come as Qatar is under siege imposed by some countries, which makes this year’s celebrations more unique. Qataris proved they’re united and standing behind HH The Emir and this unity is the real vision behind the Qatar National Day celebrations,” he said.
The celebrations are also expected to provide a platform for people to express their creativity, reported Qatar Tribune.
The celebrations will also highlight national icons in political, cultural, economic and social fields, and introduce the younger generation to the values of loyalty, unity, sovereignty through various events promoting the Qatari history and heritage.
