There has been a 1.3% increase in the number of people living in the country in October, according to latest statistics by the Ministry of Development Planning & Statistics (MDPS).

According to MDPS, Qatar’s population on October 31 was 2,668,415, which showed an increase of more than 34,000 compared to figures released at the end of September (2,634,234), according to Gulf Times.

This year, the highest number of people was recorded in May — 2,700,539 people. It was the only time when the country’s population breached the 2.7m mark.

The latest figures from MDPS also shows an increase of more than 2%, compared to the figures of the corresponding month in 2016.
