Earthna Center for a Sustainable Future, a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), announced details of the 11th edition of Qatar Sustainability Week (QSW) 2026, scheduled to take place from 31 October to 7 November, with wide participation from government, private, and civil society institutions.
The announcement was made during a press conference held today, which reviewed key initiatives and activities planned for organization alongside participating entities. Representatives highlighted their planned contributions, spanning specialized activations, community workshops, and corporate initiatives designed to champion sustainable practices.
Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Gonzalo Castro de la Mata, Executive Director, Earthna, stated: "As we launch the 11th edition of Qatar Sustainability Week, our focus remains firmly on inspiring long-term behavior change that aligns with the Qatar National Vision 2030. By equipping individuals and institutions with practical tools to conserve resources and reduce waste, we are actively shaping a resilient, sustainable future for generations to come."
For his part, Engineer Ahmed Mohammed Al Sada, Assistant Undersecretary for Climate Change Affairs at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, affirmed that Qatar Sustainability Week serves as a national platform to strengthen cooperation between government entities, the private sector, and civil society organizations, facilitate the exchange of environmental expertise and initiatives, and embed sustainability principles into corporate and community practices in support of the Qatar National Vision 2030.
He explained that the Ministry views Qatar Sustainability Week as an opportunity to reinforce collaborative national action on environment and climate change, translating environmental awareness into practical, lasting behaviors. He underscored the importance of ensuring that the outcomes of these initiatives extend well beyond the week itself to create an enduring positive impact on society and the environment.
Eng. Al Sada further noted that the event's success relies on wide-reaching participation and diverse initiatives across all sectors, urging individuals and institutions to actively take part and deliver practical actions that bolster environmental responsibility and safeguard natural resources.
Qatar Sustainability Week aims to raise environmental awareness, foster a culture of sustainability across diverse segments of society, and encourage individuals and institutions to adopt more sustainable lifestyles and take part in efforts aimed at protecting the environment and natural resources.
