In yet another achievement that reflects Qatar’s commitment to excellence in the travel sector, the country has topped the 2019 global airport as well as airlines rankings, released by AirHelp earlier this week.

AirHelp, which supports passengers in claiming compensation for delayed or canceled flights, released its 2019 rankings for over 130 airports across the globe and more than 70 major global airlines.

According to the AirHelp study, Hamad International Airport (HIA) has been declared the best airport in the world for the second year running.

Tokyo Haneda International Airport took the next spot on the list with the third secured by Athens International Airport.

The AirHelp rankings compare global airports based on a combination of flight data and customer input. Each airport is ranked on timeliness (60 percent), quality of service (20 percent), and availability of food and shops (20 percent) for travelers, according to Forbes.

In AirHelp’s Rankings of Best Airlines for Passenger Experience, Qatar Airways held onto its leading position from 2018. Once again, attaining high scores for on-time flights, quality of service, speed and ease of processing compensation claims.

The second on the list is American Airlines, followed by AeroMexico.
