QatarEnergy secures US LNG supply from Cheniere through 2054
QatarEnergy has signed two long-term Sale and Purchase Agreements (SPAs) with US energy company Cheniere to purchase up to 4 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of liquefied natural gas through 2054.
The LNG will be supplied from Cheniere’s Sabine Pass facility in Louisiana and Corpus Christi facility in Texas, both located along the US Gulf Coast.
Deliveries are anticipated to begin in 2031 and continue through 2054, according to QatarEnergy.
Under the agreements, QatarEnergy will purchase 2 MTPA from each facility on a free-on-board basis.
The agreements were signed in Doha by HE Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Minister of State for Energy Affairs and President and CEO of QatarEnergy, and Jack Fusco, Chairman, President and CEO of Cheniere Energy.
