Qatari author joins International Arabic Book Forum in Paris

The third edition of the International Forum for Arab Writers in France, which will continue until October 24, kicked off today in Paris, with the participation of about 50 publishing houses and more than 72 writers, writers, novelists, intellectuals and poets from a number of Arab and foreign countries.

In a course that witnesses a diverse program of intellectual and literary seminars, poetry evenings, and the presentation and signing of books.

In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), writer Ali Merhebi, head of the International Arab Book Forum, said, "The forum is based on two main goals, the first of which is to highlight the Arabic book and the Arabic language in the French and European space, while the second is to enhance communication, interaction and cultural exchange with the French language and European culture in general."

He added that this session is witnessing a wide participation in the Gulf in a way that enriches the cultural and literary program through the presentation and signing of books, and participation in intellectual and literary seminars and poetry evenings.

Al-Merhebi explained that Qatar's participation represents one of the prominent milestones in this session, through the participation of Dr. Saud Al-Ahbabi, who is participating in the forum with the signing ceremony of his new book published in French entitled "Franco-Qatari Geopolitical Relations", which deals with relations between France and Qatar from a geopolitical perspective, reviewing its historical dimensions and future prospects.

He pointed out that the program includes intellectual and literary seminars that address a variety of topics, including issues of the Arabic language and its interaction in the French and European environment, in addition to literary evenings in which writers and poets from different Arab countries participate.
