Qatar's UN Permanent Representative Meets 81st UNGA President-Elect

HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, met in New York with HE Dr Khalilur Rahman, President-elect of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, Sheikha Alya commended the ongoing cooperation between Qatar and the Office of the President of the General Assembly.

She wished the President-elect success in carrying out his duties and affirmed Qatar's full readiness to continue coordination with his office in a way that contributes to the success of the work of the 81st session.

For his part, Dr Rahman expressed his appreciation to Qatar for its continued cooperation with the United Nations and praised the country's active role in supporting the work of the organisation.

He also expressed his desire to continue close cooperation with Qatar to strengthen the role of the General Assembly in addressing challenges and issues of common interest.
