This week we decided to switch things up and share the choice events for the days of celebration leading up to and after National Day.
Along the Corniche
1. Fireworks show

Qatar National Day is never complete without a breathtaking show of fireworks, and this year is no different. Catch this year’s stunning show along the Corniche on Monday, the 18th of December.

At Darb Al Saai
3. Al Shaqab equestrian activities

Al Shaqab unveiled its new brand identity this weekend at Darb al Saai. They are hosting a number of activities, including pony rides and, for the first time, a dedicated riding area for ladies!
4. Homestead 
All you can learn about camel riding and hunting on camel-back can be found at this traditional black goat-hair tent section. There are special lessons included about camel-care and saddling for children!
5. The Qatar Foundation tent

Qatar Foundation (QF) has its own special tent at the venue, where visitors may join the festivities and take part in a range of engaging activities designed to showcase national pride. This includes an immersive QF Tram experience, interactive storytelling sessions and an exciting horse-riding simulator, catering to all ages and designed to provide learning opportunities that will promote and preserve Qatar’s culture and heritage.
6. Darb Al Saai Theatre

The theatre will feature debates, traditional dance performances and more between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm from the 9th till Wednesday, the 20th of December.
In Katara Cultural Village

7. 'Labaih Ya Amir’
The festival, called 'Labaih Ya Amir' (Here I am, at your service, oh Emir) at Katara, comprises of four sections called Culture, Education, Entertainment and Local Village.
- The Local Village section showcases local products by Qatari businesses that help boost the country’s economy in its drive to self sufficiency in light of the present situation.
- The Culture section includes a VIP and welcoming tent featuring authentic Qatari hospitality, a handicraft section with live demonstrations of how Qatari handmade products are created, an ardah performance and a henna section.
- The Education section includes a calligraphy booth, a photoshoot corner where you can have your photo taken in traditional Qatari garb, and a stage where high profile guests discuss important topics in relation to National Day.
- The Entertainment section feature a stage where families can take part in fun activities and watch the military show, poetry, and traditional dance. It will also include a Kids Club with arts and crafts, face painting and movie screenings for children.
