HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, CEO of Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), reviewed the final touches of Qatar 2 channel which will be launched on Thursday.
The new channel will focus on Qatar TV’s most prominent content from series and plays, to programs. A team of specialists is choosing the content in order to rebroadcast it and benefit from Qatar TV’s valuable content library.

H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani said that the new channel will join other high-quality Qatari channels, praising Qatar TV and its ability to meet the demand of viewers over the years.
He added they will work on broadcasting the most memorable content from Qatar TV’s valuable archive in order to ensure it remains in the memory of the public.
Assistant Director of Qatar TV, Mubarak Al Awami, said ‘‘launching the new channel was preceded by days of work to choose the content worth broadcasting.’’
Mubarak Al Awami said that channel’s programming will include series and plays among other programs.
He also said that Qatar TV remains a favorite channel to many viewers, and not just in Qatar. Qatar TV teams have been working intensely on preparations for the new channel, which is set to have high viewership ratings, thanks to the wide variety of high-quality programming’’
