Qatar has been going through a phase of high humidity in recent weeks. But all that could soon change, with the expected arrival of rains and winter season.

The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) announced that Monday, October 16, will mark the first night of the fourth autumn star of Al U’waa.

The star is expected to remain in the night sky for the next 13 days. While humidity will be present in the first few days of this period, morning temperatures will soon start to improve. While the daytime weather will be warm, night tends to get very cold at times.

It is also the time when the Al Wasmi season begins, bringing with it sustained rainfall. It will also lead to lush growth of truffles and other wild herbs in different areas of Qatar.

The Al Wasmi season, which will also begin on October 16, will last for 52 days, until December 6. Rainfall during this season’s early days is a pointer towards good rain and eventually winter.
