With the recent rise in COVID cases and the Omicron variant looming as a threat, Dr. Jameela Al Ajmi, Executive Director of Corporate Infection Prevention & Control at HMC assured everyone that this was not a cause of alarm.

Speaking in a video published at the Ministry of Public Health on Twitter, she said that “the increase along with the emergence of the new Omicron variant around the world is a reminder that the battle against Covid-19 is not yet over.”

To fight this war against COVID-19, Dr. Al Ajmi once again urged the citizens to make sure they follow the three main actions required to overcome this virus:

• Get vaccinated, including the booster vaccine when applicable
• Getting tested immediately after experiencing symptoms or being exposed to someone with COVID
• Adhering to the precautionary measures by maintaining social distance, washing hands regularly, wearing a mask.
