As part of its annual initiative, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced the sale of sheep at subsidized rates from July 13 till July 21.
According to MoCI, an agreement was made with the Widam Food Company to provide approximately 12,500 heads of Arab sheep, to be sold at subsidized and discounted prices for citizens at QAR 1,000 for the local sheep (35 kg and more) and QAR 950 for Syrian sheep (45 kg or more).

Sheep will be sold at Widam slaughterhouses in Al Wakrah, Al Shamal, Al Khor, Al Mazroua, and Al Sheehaniya, although only one head of sheep will be allowed per Qatari citizen in order to reach the target group.
MoCI stated that starting on the first day of sale, it will enhance its inspection activities to guarantee that the subsidized rates are adhered to and that safety protocols are followed.
