Tragedy struck an Indian family in Qatar on Saturday night after their six-year-old son passed away after falling into an uncovered manhole in the Wukair Area, reported Gulf Times.
The deceased, identified as Izan Ahmed Basheer, son of Parambath Basheer and Rahana, was a Grade 1 student at the Doha Ideal Indian School, reported Mathrubhumi Online.
Izan, who had reportedly gone to dine at a restaurant in the area, was accompanied by his parents on the tragic day. Once the family finished their meals and was moving towards their car, the boy was found missing.
Relatives, friends and community social workers soon launched an extensive search for the boy, with social media like Facebook and WhatsApp also put to use.

A complaint was also registered with the Al Wakrah police station. But it all turned out to be in vain as the little boy’s body was found inside the manhole, in the restaurant’s immediate vicinity, in the early hours yesterday.
The child’s tragic passing away, which occurred on the eve of Eid Al Fitr, has shocked and saddened the Indian community in Qatar.
Our sincere condolences to the bereaved family members.
