Once again we are putting a spotlight on another remarkable construction in Doha. The Zig Zag Towers have been built with some amazing architecture and design ideas. Two mixed use towers that are linked to Lagoona Mall, which has some fantastic places to hang out.

The build was originally surrounded by some controversy with many of the earlier residents highly criticising the quality of the build. There does however seem to have been a massive improvement to the Towers as the buildings have had more work done on them and the mall has drawn in more international brands.
We can only admire the work and effort that has gone into building these leaning towers. So this time we decided to write a piece of free-form poetry in recognition of the hard times this building has gone through in order to reach its iconic status.
Hard Times: Life as a Bent Building
Have a look out of my dusty windows,
it doesn’t matter how far you lean out,
I am a bent structure, made up of two towers.
It takes a while for you to love me,
My shape,
My form,
All bent and odd.
Whilst my fellow buildings stand tall and proud,
I have a slightly odd twist to my build.
Zig Left, Zag Right,
Zig Left, Zag Right,
I bend in four stages.
But –
there is high quality engineering
And physics involved,
To keep me up in the sky.
My towers rise and shine in the bright sunshine,
I only need a few more bends
Zig Left, Zag Right,
Zig Left, Zag Right,
To rise as the highest of all.

What do you guys think about the complex? Do you think there is some beauty in these Towers or do you see them as an eyesore? If you are a resident do tell us what it feels like to live in a bendy building?
Once again any budding artists out there feel free to write your own piece on these leaning buildings.
