Qatar has been quite successful in welcoming the world to its shores. If it was the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 last year, several major events since then have continued to keep travellers’ interest in Qatar active.
Over the last few months, Qatar’s air transport statistics have shown the country’s growing popularity among the world’s travellers.

The latest stats, released by Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), shows that there was a 20.3% increase in number of passengers in June 2023 compared to the same period last year. The number rose from 3,105,978 in June 2022 to 3,737,572 in June 2023.
It was an all-time high for the month since operations started at the Hamad International Airport and Doha International Airport.
The aircraft movement also showed a significant 15.1% growth on a year-on-year basis.
While 18,155 aircraft landed and took off from Qatar in June 2022, the numbers rose to 20,891 last month.
However, there was a slight 0.9% decrease in the amount of cargo handled by the airports, going down from 196,724 tonnes to 195,029 tonnes.
