The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), Switzerland, has removed Qatar from its list of 'high-risk countries'.
Travelers from Qatar are no longer required to undergo quarantine upon arrival in Switzerland.
According to information available on the FOPH website, this came into effect on May 20, 2021.
Along with Qatar, the FOPH has removed Palestine, Austria (Land Oberosterreich and Land Salzburg), France (Region Bretagne and Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine), Hungary, Italy (Regione Basilicata), Poland, and Serbia from the list.
All arrivals in Switzerland from the above-mentioned places are no longer required to quarantine.
However, all travelers must undergo a PCR test before 72 hours when entering Switzerland, which should show a negative result.
People who do not possess a negative COVID-19 test result must undergo testing in Switzerland using a PCR or a rapid antigen test, SchengenVisaInfo.com reported.
On the other hand, anyone arriving in Switzerland from a high-risk country, including vaccinated travelers, must stay self-isolated for ten days.
Yesterday, Qatar Airways tweeted, "Great news! Qatar is no longer on the high-risk list for Switzerland, which means arrivals no longer need to quarantine. Qatar Airways operates daily flights from Doha to Zurich."
