The Simpsons is a long-running and much-loved American cartoon series that has been airing on television networks since 1989.

It follows the life of an American family and has garnered huge respect and fans worldwide. The show, which has seen its own fair share of controversies on the political and cultural fields, is a true phenomenon.

And when an animation series is that iconic, there will be a lot of behind-the-scene stories to be shared about it. That is exactly what Mike Reiss, writer, show-runner and producer of The Simpsons will be doing in Doha on March 6.

The 70-minute interactive session, titled ‘Secrets of the Simpsons,’ is being organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Qatar (AmCham Qatar). Reiss will share his history and showcase some fun-facts about the show with the audience, reported The Peninsula.

Reiss, who won four Emmy Awards during his three-decade journey of writing for The Simpsons, is expected to regale audience with several anecdotes.

The writer, who has also contributed to over two dozen animated movies including the Ice Age, Kung Fu Panda, and Despicable Me series, will talk using abundant cartoon clips and recall stories, secrets and scandals behind the show — dealing with network censors, celebrity guests, critics (including George Bush).
