According to the new travel policy issued by Qatar, vaccinated people from all countries will be exempted from quarantine, taking effect from July 12, 2021.

Moreover, countries are now classified into green, yellow and red categories. Vaccinated people coming from red list will be required to do a repeat RT PCR on arrival.

Passengers travelling to Qatar from all ports must also pre-register on the Ehteraz website and attach all relevant documentation for a period of at least 12 hours before arrival.

There is no need for quarantine for Qatari citizens and residents, including GCC citizens, who are currently QID holders if they have been fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine or have been diagnosed and recovered from COVID-19 (within 9 months) in Qatar or other GCC member states provided they have received at least 1 dose of any MOPH-Qatar recognized vaccine.

The following is the list of COVID-19 vaccines recognised by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH):

1. Comirnaty by Pfizer BioNTech (mRNA vaccine)
2. Spikevax by ModernaTX, Inc. (mRNA vaccine)
3. Vaxzevria, and Covishield by Oxford-Astrazeneca (Viral Vector vaccine)
4. Janssen/Johnson&Johnson by Janssen Pharmaceuticals Companies of Johnson & Johnson (Viral Vector vaccine)

Conditional Vaccines:

1. BBIBP-CorV/Sinopharm by Beijing Institute of Biological Products (Inactivated vaccine)
2. CoronaVac/Sinovac by Sinovac BioTech (Inactivated vaccine)

Travelers who have been fully vaccinated with the above-mentioned conditional vaccines will be subjected to an antibody test upon arrival and will be exempt from quarantine if the result is positive for antibodies; otherwise, the traveler will be subjected to the applicable quarantine based on the country of departure.

Persons who have been partially vaccinated (one dose of two doses), who have been fully vaccinated but have not completed a period of fourteen (14) days since the first dose of J&J or the second dose of other MOPH recognized vaccines, who have received vaccines not approved by MOPH-Qatar, and who have been diagnosed and recovered from COVID-19 within the last nine months abroad (non-GCC states) will be divided into three categories (green, yellow, and red).

Adults, including pregnant women, lactating mothers, and those 75 years and older, must be quarantined at home for 5 days if they arrive from a country on the green list.

Countries in Green List  

If coming from yellow list countries, the traveler will undergo hotel quarantine for 7 days.

If coming from red list countries, the traveler will undergo hotel quarantine for 10 days.

Children 0-11 years old will follow the same entry regime as their parents. If the latter are vaccinated, the children will be considered vaccinated.

Unvaccinated Children 12-17 years old will be required to do quarantine as for the procedure assigned to the country of departure. In case of hotel quarantine, they will be accompanied by one parent, even if the latter is vaccinated.

If fully vaccinated then family, business and leisure visitors including GCC Citizens, who are non-QID holder/nonresident, do not require quarantine.

Non-vaccinated visitors are not allowed entry to Qatar.

Children 0-11 years old will follow the same entry regime as their parents. If the latter are vaccinated, the children will be considered vaccinated.

Unvaccinated Children aged 12 to 17 will be required to undergo quarantine in accordance with the procedures in place in the country of departure. They will be accompanied by one parent in the event of a hotel quarantine, even if the latter is vaccinated.

Testing and Quarantine Policy On Arrival in Qatar:

Those who exhibit symptoms will be tested as needed by the medical staff at the ports.

Travelers who have not been vaccinated, who have been injected with vaccinations that are not recognized in Qatar, or who have not completed the 14-day vaccine administration period since the second dosage will be subjected to the following:

Coming from a Green list country: 5 days home quarantine and a repeat RT-PCR test in PHCC on day 4; if the test is negative, you will be discharged on day 5.

Coming from a Yellow list country: 7-day hotel quarantine and a repeat RT-PCR test (at the cost of the tourist) on day 6, after which the traveler will be released on day 7 if the test is negative.

Coming from a Red list country: 10 days hotel quarantine and a repeat PCR on arrival in the hotel, and if the test is negative on day 9 (at the expense of the traveler), you will be discharged on day 10.

Vaccinated visitors arriving from the Red list nations will be subjected to a repeat RT-PCR test (at the expense of the traveler) upon arrival at the HIA/land border; if the test is positive, the traveler will be required to follow the isolation regimen.
