The BFA + MFA Exhibition 2022, a showcase of the works of this year's graduating cohort of students, will be open to the public from May 9 to May 17, at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar), a Qatar Foundation (QF) partner university.

The exhibition is open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the ground floor of VCUarts Qatar's facility in Education City. Those who are unable to visit the campus or who are located elsewhere in the world can view the show via the link.

The exhibition is a collection of 57 graduates from VCUarts Qatar's Class of 2022's unique and often unconventional works. There are 52 undergraduate students from the university's graphic design, interior design, painting and printmaking, and fashion design programs, as well as five postgraduate students from the university's design program.

Despite the fact that the majority of the last two academic years were held online, VCUarts Qatar made sure that students had access to resources that would allow them to incorporate techniques like animation, textile design, silk printing, fabrication technology, visual languages, product, print, and website design, typography, home fashion merchandising, building code requirements, interior graphics, printmaking, digital painting, screen-printing, lithography, computer programming, and photography.

Homelessness, conflict, cultural conservation, third-culture kids, mental health, nationality and identity, social hierarchies, and sustainable modular furniture are some of the topics this year's graduates have looked into. The exhibition excites Amir Berbi, the Dean of VCUarts Qatar.

The Class of 2022 will follow in the footsteps of graduates who are making a difference in the world. Others have had their art presented at prestigious exhibitions and events in countries including Doha, Dubai, Milan, Venice, London, Berlin, Moscow, Paris, and Hong Kong.

According to the Dean, this physical show, along with an online presence, enables for greater reach, allowing business and media professionals to see and appreciate VCUarts Qatar's skill and innovation. The creations on display demonstrate how the COVID hurdles certainly didn't stop this graduating class from researching current concerns that affect people around the world, or from elevating the ordinary into spectacular, thought-provoking installations.

VCUarts Qatar offers students the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Painting + Printmaking, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History, and a Master of Fine Arts in Design degree.
