Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation Announces 2026-2027 Sports Calendar

Coinciding with International University Sports Day, the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation announced its activities calendar for the 2026-2027 sports season, which includes 22 tournaments across 12 different sports, with competitions targeting male and female students at the country’s educational and higher education institutions.

The calendar is part of the Federation’s efforts to strengthen the presence of sport in the educational and university community, expand participation, and provide more opportunities for students to compete in a variety of individual and team sports.

The season’s competitions include padel, cricket, volleyball, table tennis, football, chess, cross-country, futsal, esports, swimming, basketball and shooting. Activities will run from October 2026 through May 2027.

HE Dr. Ibrahim bin Nasser Al Nuaimi, President of the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, said: “We seek to promote sport as an essential part of educational and university life, and to provide more opportunities for our male and female students to participate and compete.”

For his part, Rashid Saeed Odaiba, Secretary-General of the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation, said: “Twenty-two tournaments in 12 sports reflect the diversity of the season and our commitment to expanding participation opportunities for male and female students at educational and higher education institutions in the State of Qatar.”

The calendar announcement coincides with International University Sports Day, underscoring the importance of sport in strengthening connections among students, building a more active educational and university community, and establishing sport as part of the educational experience.

The Federation will continue its cooperation during the new season with educational and higher education institutions and sports entities in Qatar, contributing to the development of university sports and the expansion of participation.
