Qatar and Venezuela have developed a deep friendship over the year, and it continues to strengthen over time. Several times in the past, the two countries have supported each other in times of need.

Moreover, the two nations have enjoyed bilateral co-operation in the fields of culture, sport, economy and investments, and the increase of trade exchange by mutual benefit.

As a result, Venezuela’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Asia and the Middle East Ruben Dario Molina said his country outright rejected the ongoing illegal siege against Qatar, according to Gulf Times.

He noted that the Venezuelan government, since the beginning of the GCC crisis, had announced its readiness to provide all forms of support and assistance to mitigate the harm caused to Qatar.

He said that Qatari diplomacy has succeeded in uncovering the facts about the illegal siege and gained the support of the international community.

He said Qatar’s development model was worth emulating and that the country had seen a renaissance in sports that will be crowned with a successful and unique organisation of the 2022 World Cup.

Molina said Qatar and Venezuela held similar views on international and regional issues. He said Venezuela attaches special attention to the Palestinian cause, and there is full support and solidarity among the Venezuelans for the right of Palestinians to establish their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital and as a full member of the United Nations.

The Minister said the Arab World Hall would be inaugurated in Venezuela soon in the presence of Arab ambassadors from all the Arab countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
