The choreographed fountain system installed on the Corniche continues to entertain its visitors with several spectacular shows every night presented as part of the Qatar Summer Festival that launched on Monday.

Set on a 200M system, 118 pumps that shoot water as high as 60M dancing to the music while illuminated by 118 lights enthrall hundreds of onlookers nightly.

There are nine shows each night from 7pm to 11pm, with five different variations. The shows have seen increasing attendance from the public since it started on Monday.

Doha-based event management company Hexagon has partnered with Flash Art, a German multimedia show company, in the staging of the show, which took over four weeks to prepare.

The length of each show varies from six to 10 minutes depending on the music track.

“We have five music tracks, two of which were made by our creative director especially for the festival, while the three were recommended by the QTA,” explained Alihan Tokmak, General Manager of Hexagon.

Synchronising all the different elements of the show is no easy task for the creative director in order to present a spectacular show to the public.

“Every single note is synchronised to one effect of the fountain and the lights. Every single note requires creativity,” he said.

Impressed by the show, Abdel Kader, one of the spectators, said the shows add colour to the already vibrant atmosphere of the Corniche which has been attracting visitors who take photos with the imposing Doha skyline as the backdrop.
