The first contemporary Qatari restaurant in the region opened its doors for everyone to experience a new level of modern Qatari dining, hospitality and entertainment every Saturday on its stunning Walima Terrace.
With the cooler, more patio-friendly weather slowly approaching us, Mondrian Doha launched its Saturday Sundowner Sessions at Walima Terrace, which allows guests the unique opportunity to indulge in Qatari dining and hospitality. Located on the P2 floor at Mondrian Doha, Saturday Sundown Sessions embraces the spirit of this season, where guests can enjoy live vocal & minimal deep house music by renowned DJs powered by Spirit Night.

They also have a brand new Mediterranean Menu inspired by the region’s rich cuisine and culinary heritage, all spun in a modern and vibrant style of hospitality. Items on the menu include many traditional delights including lamb kofta, crispy lamb rolls, saffron chicken and all-round favourite shawarma. This is in addition to different selections of Tandoor and hearty grills like the ajwain king prawns, butterfly beef tenderloin and delicious cumin marinated lamb chops served with chimchurri sauce. They also have a sumptuous array of traditional and contemporary Arabian mezze favourites including smoked hummus, minted pesto labneh, gourmet falafel and tabbouleh cups. A selection of eye-catching soups and speciality salads are also on the menu including the orange blossom carrot soup, served with roasted carrots, green olives and mache salad. Finally, make sure to leave any dietary plans behind, as their desserts are unmissable, such as the yogourt panna cotta with strawberry meringue and rose jelly and much much more.

Walima celebrates the Qatari heritage of authentic flavours, echoing the nation’s spirit as it remains true to its roots, while boldly embracing influences from around the world. Guests at Walima will always expect a warm welcome in a true Qatari fashion, renowned for its abundant generosity and hospitality.
A true manifestation of Qatari receptiveness, Walima was designed by Dutch Designer Marcel Wanders with the task to re-imagine Qatari hospitality in a modern dining space. Inspired by local black and white garments and oriental patterns, Wander’s created an inimitable setting for discovering local and regional flavours from the Middle East. Cascading lanterns, bold colours, ornament shishas and sunken majlis catered for large shared meals, along with private VIP dining rooms offering guests the chance to enjoy a more intimate setting.

Upon arrival, guests will be greeted with a souk-inspired atmosphere, as Walima plans to periodically collaborate with local entrepreneurs and creative artists to offer new sensory experiences for guests to discover. They will also source their produce from organic and local companies, as they plan to commit to ensuring the sustainable development of local farms and the advancement of the Qatari food supply.
